Italy's Caproni Ca.111 reconnaissance

Design

The Caproni Ca.111 was a single engine reconnaissance aircraft based on the Caproni Ca.101 bomber design.

In 1934 the design was change to a wing that was longer but not as wide.

Usage

Some Ca.111s were supplied to China in 1935 as part of the Italian Air Mission.

A few Ca.111s and Ca.111 Idros were sent to Peru where they were nicknamed Panchos.

Ethiopia

A few of the Ca.111s were used in Ethiopia by the Regia Aeronautica.

World War II

At the start of World War II the Ca.111s were mostly being used as trainers.
