Design

Build on the SU-76M chassis. Because the gasoline tanks were easily ignited it was nicknamed "a coffin for six brothers."1

The 37 mm gun fired a 1.6 lb HE-T type shell at a muzzle velocity of 2,887'/sec.1 It was a 5 shot clip fed gun with a 160-180 rounds per minute.1
