Design

The original four speed gearbox was replaced by a five speed in the last 100 T-34 Model 1934s.

The T-34 Model 1943 was to receive a hexagonal turret that eliminated the dangerous overhang, that was used by the Germans to place mines under and blow off the previous turrets. These new turrets gave the crew more room and were easier to manufacturer.
