Design

The T-80's designer was N. A. Astrov. The T-80 was based on the T-70. Armor was increased.

The T-80's track was wider and the suspension stronger than the T-70.

Crew

The T-80 had a crew of three. This allowed for the commander and gunner to be in the turret.
