Japan's Kamakura Maru escort aircraft carrier

Design

The passenger liner Chichiba Maru was purchased by the Japanese Navy in 1941 and converted into a hospital ship.1 In 1942 it was decided to convert her into an escort carrier but was sunk before work started.1
