Italy's Fiat G.12 transport

Design

In 1939 the Fiat G.12 was designed by Giuseppe Gabrielli to be a civilian transport flying internationally.1 Once World War II started the military requisitioned all of them.1

The G.12 was a low wing monoplane that had a composite structure and covering.1 The landing gear was retractable.1

Prototype

The G.12 first flew in May 1941.1
