Design

The Blohm und Voss Bv 141 was designed to meet a specification for a reconnaissance aircraft. The cockpit and engine were mounted separately on one wing. The German Air Ministry refused to fund the project so Blohm und Voss funded it themselves. In the end the Focke Wulf Fw 189 was choosen.

Prototype

The Bv 141 prototype first flew on February 25, 1938.
