Yesterday was the 60th anniversary of the start of World War II with the invasion of Poland by Germany. Sometimes when I get wrapped up in that time period in history I have to step back and get a reality check. It's not just "neat" weapons, or well fought battles, but something that touched the whole world in many profound ways. My 9 year old doesn't really understand my fascination with the time period of Sept. 1, 1939, to Sept. 2, 1945, but I hope there is one thing she get's out of "dad's weirdness" is to never forget what went on back then and that her generation will grow up in a world free of wars and that "neat" weapons will be in museums not on battlefields.
